How Much Magnesium? One dessertspoonful of cream (13g) contains approximately 300mg of elemental magnesium. One 400g jar of cream, using one application per day, would last a person about one month. Some people may require two applications per day. According to Drs Carolyn Dean and Mildred Seelig the majority of people in western countries need to supplement 300-600mg elemental magnesium per day, depending on stress levels, illness levels, age and diet.
