ADD/ADHD - Learning Difficulties - Behaviour Difficulties.
ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder):
This is not a disease but a label created from “symptoms” or behaviours: generally describing troubles in focussing which in turn will affect the learning process. More often “diagnosed” in children, yet symptoms are common in adults too, but adjustments have been made in order to minimise their evidence.
ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder):
Very much similar to ADD, but aggravated by hyperactivity symptoms.
Learning Difficulties:
Self explanatory, yet very often used as a cop-out from ignorance. Dyslexia, concentration and many factors can be grouped into this label.
Behaviour Difficulties:
Not fitting into the society mold. Usually involving social behavior deemed unacceptable such as violence.
The relief of parents once their children have been “diagnosed” medically as one of the above “labelled” conditions is one of the most outrageous expression of lack of information and investigation. Then, comes the treatments of these conditions: anti-depressants, sleeping tablets, Retalin or similar neurotransmitters and hormonal scrambling drugs.
When it comes to learning, our schools currently offer inappropriate ways of learning. Evidences are numerous from successful people that were guaranteed to be failures according to the schooling system.
A few examples of recognised ways of learning processes:
- Auditory: including, verbal, sounds and rhythmic learning.
- Visual
- Kinesthetic
- Logical
- Musical
- Extrovert
- Introvert
Yet currently the common schooling system only offer on average 2 to 3 (visual, some auditory and some kinesthetic) as the only option of learning process.
Many “alternative” schooling systems are flourishing, such as the Montessori or Steiner schooling systems, as an alternative way to ensure maximum usage and access of all learning aspects.
Under the acceptance that not every child or person learn the same way, the current limiting teaching process may not respond to the appropriate learning process of your child and its ability to stay under the brain’s thresholds, then guess what? The child becomes non responsive, bored, disruptive, questioning, aggressive, failing to learn and set himself/herself into a “non responsive pattern”. There is nothing more frustrating than not being allowed to operate at your maximum potential. Image every day you go into your work’s environment being slapped on the face for no reasons, how long would it take you before you develop and show up defense’s mechanisms, protection and respond to it. Yet you are being told it is your fault and you should take some drugs to control your inner intelligence reactions. Well somehow it is happening on daily basis without any major issue or questioning, under the cover of controversial potential “heath benefits”, just consider fluoridation of the water.
The trigger points must be addressed so the brain has the ability to handle all responses from a neurological point of view. Consider vaccination, medication and fluoridation as some ongoing possible cause of problems, creating some deep ongoing disturbances labelled as ADD or learning difficulties. Then comes into play foods, soft drinks, chemicals and improper digestion creating more reasons to activate ADHD or behaviour difficulties. Now there you can appreciate the dangerous cocktail presented and creating all these major difficulties.
Before considering medications, consider the digestive system and the enteric nervous system failure to provide the following vital neurotransmitters and hormones: Dopamine (used as a learning signal), Serotonin (necessary to avoid anxiety, depression, bi-polar and control hyperactivity and impulsive behaviours), consider the effect of antibiotics or chlorine in the water you drink, designed to kill of bacteria, which happens to be a vital eco and biological system running your digestion. Sometimes the truth hurts but prior to looking for quick fix solutions, parents should reevaluate their failure to provide and maintain, by avoiding the “traps” set-up, the necessary foods and common sense for a prosperous gastrointestinal track environment.
Proper cortical integration is paramount for proper brain functions but as well digestion potential, knowingly they are linked through cranial nerves to communicate all primary functions such as digestion or stress response.
Although a child can be confronted with some of these issues, when remained untreated, it will go through to puberty and adulthood. Teenagers are facing harder time to deal with the last phase of neurological organisation of the brains, the hormones kicking-in and social pressures without having to deal with unresolved issues from their childhood. Once into adulthood and all the accumulated disfunction have been carried forward, the difficulties to obtain optimum health is getting more challenging.
